As Close to God as You want to Be

Are you satisfied with your relationship with God?

I think if we are honest most would say in my relationship with God I'm disappointed with me?

Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Jas 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

I love this passage because it tells me that the problem is with me and the solution also rests with me?

The key in this passage is the word resist.

Definition of resist; It means to withstand, strive against, or oppose in some manner.

The first line of defense is in your mind, to perceive the thought and recognize it's origin?

If the thought is evil, planted by demonic forces, and you reject it as evil, the demonic forces will eventually depart?

The Demons don't have the time to devote to someone who is not going to play along?

People who are used by the demonic forces, recognize them for who they are?

Cleanse your hands means:I don't want any part of this, walk away?
Remember Pilot?

Purify your hearts, can't blame anyone else for this one it's all you? These are the thoughts and imaginations that come from within?

Mat 15:18-20 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication's, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man:

Thoughts from without and thoughts from within, control these and you will draw closer to God.
