No panic! They are normal light pillars!

Telegram seems to be in panic, even the people I often quote from.

They are normal light pillars caused by ice crystals in the atmosphere. (On the left is an example of the current 'concern', on the right a reference picture.)
If they are seen over a large geographical area, then there is a big cold front -- and it's the winter approaching.
