Attack on Angles - Advanced Boxing
“So in War, the way is to avoid what is Strong, and Strike at what is Weak.” Sun Tzu, The Art of War.

Head on Collisions cause the most damage, they leave both parties dazed, confused and injured. In the fighting arts, standing and trading shots Toe to Toe with an opponent is equivalent to being in a Head on Collision. Be Smart, Avoid it! Do not stand still in front of a dangerous opponent, instead, fight them where they are weak. Do this by taking Angles to keep your opponent off balence and prevent them from setting their feet for Power Punches.

With this drill, we begin by attacking on the Line with 2 Linear Punches before we break off the line with a Hook and a Step Out to the Lead Side. This step may cause the opponent to turn and try to adjust. However, it was just a fake. Like a Ghost we hit and do not get get back. We swim without getting wet. As the opponent begins to readjust to where the Lead Hook came from, we quickly skip our feet to the opposite side as we step out with the Rear Uppercut followed by the Lead Hook. We attack relentlessly from this Dominant Position but performing a D'Amato Shift (after the Lead Hook) followed by a Tyson Style Lead Hook to the Body, then Head. We use the momentum of the Lead Hook to Pivot off of our Rear Foot into the opposite stance and safely disengage. From there we are able to re-engage the opponent before they have time to adjust to our change in Stance.
