Google Ads is an online advertising platform developed by Google, where advertisers bid to display brief advertisements, service offerings, product listings, or videos to web users. It can place ads both in the results of search engines like Google Search and on non-search websites, mobile apps, and videos.

Google AdWords is now Google Ads
On July 24th, 2018, Google AdWords became Google Ads. The new Google Ads brand represents the full range of campaign types available today, including Search, Display and Video.

What changed
On July 24, 2018, the new Google Ads brand—including the new name and logo—was updated in the product interface, Help Center, billing documents, and more. The URL you use to access your account changed from adwords.google.com to ads.google.com, and the Help Center changed from support.google.com/adwords to support.google.com/google-ads.

Changes to the Google Ads branding will not impact your campaign performance, navigation, or reporting.
