⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦 AFU Offensive on Beryslav Chronicle of Battles, October 1-3, 2022

🔻While the Russian General Staff focused on other directions, the AFU established a strike force of over 150 armoured vehicles near Osokorivka and Velyka Kostromka on the Kryvyi Rih section of the front.

▪️On the evening of October 1, the AFU launched an offensive on Zolota Balka and Lyubymivka and reach the outskirts of Khreshchenivka.

▪️On October 2, AFU units took control over intermediate localities and traversed over 20 km towards Beryslav without any impediment.

▪️By the evening of October 2, a combined Ukrainian battle task group had reached the village of Dudchany, where Russian forces were entrenched. On the night, hostilities halted due to weather, but mutual shelling continued.

▪️In the afternoon of October 3, after reinforcements and reserves arrived, the AFU continued to advance on Dudchany with three combined battalions. Having lost more than a dozen armoured vehicles, the AFU retreated.

▪️By the evening of October 3, the fighting resumed. The Russian Armed Forces were forced to retreat to the southern bank of the village of Dudchany, having blown up the bridge over the Dudchany Reservoir. The northern part of the village is controlled by the enemy.

🔻The AFU are unlikely to abandon their plans to force the natural watershed: in case of a successful offensive, the Ukrainian units may wedge themselves even deeper into the defensive lines of the Russian forces. However, it is more likely that the AFU will attempt to reach the flank of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kryvyi Rih area.

With the AFU simultaneous attack in the Andriivka section of the front at Davydiv Brid, as well as from the side of Arkhanhel's'ke, the Ukrainian units may encircle the Russian grouping on the right bank of the Dnipro River.
