The Curse of Voodoo Priestess Julia Brown and The New Orleans Hurricane of 1915 | Louisiana Legends

Everyday for weeks, residents of Frenier, in St. John the Baptist Parish in Louisiana, heard the local healer and seer Julia Brown playing her guitar and singing the same song in The Manchac Swamp which is about a half hour northwest of New Orleans.

It’s said that as she was singing, she was putting a curse on the town and that she caused the hurricane that killed hundreds of people, so let’s talk about it.

The words to her song were…

"When I die...I'll take the whole town with me...when I die...I'll take the whole town..."
