Los Angeles Police officers moved quickly to save the life of a fleeing suspect suspected of overdosing. On September 19, 2022, a Devonshire patrol unit tried to stop a man "walking on the roadway." "The man refused, clutched his bag and ran away," reported police. Believing the man could be armed (he was), the officers followed him, but the suspect unexpectedly collapsed right in front of them. In body camera footage, officers can be seen administering CPR and other life-saving efforts.
