Kim Kardashian has to pay the SEC $1.2 million for her role in promoting a cryptocurrency scam Ethereum MAX. She was paid $250,000 and failed to disclose that information to her millions of followers on instagram. She has decided to just pay the fine, instead of fighting the charges. This is another great example of people who shouldn't be giving out financial advice.
