This lizard can climb trees and dig up objects swiftly because to its flexible toes. Females are more of an olive green to pale blue tone, whereas mature males can be any color from dark grey to turquoise.

Younger blue iguanas have significantly deeper coloring, with substantially darker banding and a dark brown or green colour. The adults can turn blue to mark their territory when they are near other iguanas, but they frequently choose to remain on the ground. Male blue iguanas are bigger and have more noticeable dorsal crests than females. However, the axanthic blue iguanas are only 10 to 14 inches long.
