Elon Musk Introduces Tesla’s Optimus Robot Prototype

Tesla's AI Day took place on Saturday, September 30, 2022, at Tesla's headquarters in Palo Alto, California. Elon Musk (and company) showed off a working prototype of the company's humanoid robot, Optimus. Musk was using AI Day as a recruiting tool to help Tesla expand its robotics division. Musk has said the development of Optimus is "the most important product development we're doing this year." He predicted that Optimus (and the company's robotics division) will have "the potential to be more significant than the vehicle business over time."
