1st Socialist experiment in America (you never heard of). It failed as usual. + Marx & Engles meet.

This tells the tale of the father of socialism Robert Owen, and how one of the first socialist experiments happened on American soil. As usual, it was dictatorial, it sought to capture the minds of children as early on as possible, it sought to destroy private property, religion and marriage. It was a huge failure compared to #Americanism and the #anericanexperiment.

The only reason Owen even had the freedom to try this experiment was due to the fact that he came to a nation who’s fundamental belief was in the liberty of it’s citizens. Although that wasn’t the case at new harmony, the people there lived under Owens rule. A mini dictatorship if you will. Owens son, Robert Dale gives one of the greatest analysis of socialism in his quote in the video. Owen, being the socialist idealist that he was, then blames the people who partook in his experiment rather the practice of socialism and forced equality. This seems to be a reoccurring theme for socialist/communist leaders throughout history.
