10th in our series the Prophet Zephaniah
I. Call to a Sacred Assembly - Zephaniah 2:1
* A. The assembly stands before God to repent of their sins and to cry out to Him for mercy before it is too late - Joel 1:14
* 1. The sins of a nation will bring God’s judgment - Joel 2:1-3
* 2. The only hope is full repentance - Joel 2:15-17
* B. The words for “undesired nation” refers to a nation that is unashamed, how does a nation become shameless?
* 1. The anatomy of a dead conscience - Romans 2:14-15
* a. A good conscience brings pain when violated either excusing or accusing
* b. A defiled conscience - Titus 1:15
* c. A seared conscience - 1 Timothy 4:2
* d. And evil conscience - Hebrews 10:22 
* 2. A nation at the bottom of the downward spiral becomes a nation without a functioning conscience, a nation unashamed

II. Allaying Judgment Day requires repentance before - Zephaniah 2:2-3
* A. The decree of judgment is issued from the throne of God
* 1. Implied is that once the decree is issued it is too late
* 2. Now is the day of salvation - 2 Corinthians 6:2
* B. When the judgment falls, what about the righteous?
* 1. Abraham’s question to God - Genesis 18:23
* 2. God can and will protect His own
* a. Noah and his family during the flood
* b. Israel while Egypt received the 10 plagues
* c. The Church - Revelation 12:13-16
* 3. The character God requires: meek who uphold justice
* a. Those who seek the Lord
* b. Those who seek righteousness
