The Buffalo Rose - Oldest Bar in Colorado!

Continuing my journey to have a beer at the oldest bar in all 50 states of the USA. The Buffalo Rose, located in Golden, Colorado is considered to be the oldest bar in the state of Colorado.

While the Buffalo Rose was recently renovated in 2018 and reopened in 2019, they retained brick and lumber from the original structure dating back to 1902 and possibly further. There has been a drinking establishment on this property since 1859. So, this bar has a unique modern feel while preserving parts of its original structure.

Now some dispute the claim that the Buffalo Rose is the oldest bar because while the property has contained a bar since 1859, the current building does not date that far back. Some consider The Mint to be the oldest bar in Colorado because the actual building has been serving alcohol since 1862, however The Mint has changed locations (as in resided in three different towns) during this long tenure - currently residing in Silverthorne, Colorado.

So things can get a little complicated when deciphering what exactly constitutes an official "Oldest Bar". Is it the building? the history of the property? the actual bar-top itself located inside the building?
(I plan to also film a video and have a beer at the historic Mint bar someday.)
