This bar chart race shows the most expensive club transfer fees in football (soccer) when inflation adjusted, in Euro and seasonal from 1960 to 2022 (August).

The currency numbers are historical equivalents. Not all transfers are made in Euros today, and no transfers made before the introduction of the currency were in Euros.

Inflaton adjustments are based on the historical rates within EEC and later EU. For 2022, the average for the first eight months is used.
