WASHINGTON – On Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 10:30am ET, the U.S. House Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth, chaired by Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04), will host a roundtable, "Good Pay for Hard Work: Apprenticeships, Workforce Development, and Diverse Pathways to High-Quality Jobs," focusing on the nation’s deficit of skilled workers for domestic manufacturing, clean energy, and infrastructure industries. Members will hear directly from labor and industry representatives about training pathways for high-quality, life-sustaining jobs in these sectors beyond the traditional four-year college track, including registered apprenticeships programs, diverse hiring practices, and other workforce training programs.
