Never A Dull Moment, by Sue Clayton
If Polly’s in a good mood we play hide and seek. She hides and I seek. If she’s in a bad mood she tends to lob crockery at me. She hurls and I duck.
‘Stop it or I’ll snitch,’ Silence greets my usual threat…except for soft footfalls scratching through broken cups, saucers and plates littering the kitchen floor. Polly’s my best friend, has been ever since I turned eleven. She’s always hanging around at my place and there’s never a dull moment when she comes to play. But threatening to call Father Seamus, the exorcist, always calms my poltergeist.
