President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich signed a decree recognizing Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as independent.

Melitopol will be the temporary capital of the Zaporizhzhya region as a subject of the Russian Federation, said Vladimir Rogov, president of the "We are together with Russia" movement.

"The key word is 'temporarily', because the capital of the region after liberation will once again be its regional center - Zaporozhye," he explained.
