This is an unboxing and quick overview of the brand new dBrand Project Killswitch. In this video, I will be discussing all of the main features of the Project Killswitch and some of the ways that you can use it.

This was originally released on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. EST but was discontinued until early 2023 shortly after release due to an adverse reaction with the fans on some Steam Deck devices.

To ensure full compatibility with all Steam Decks, those who have already purchased and received a Project Killswitch will receive a new case and kickstand when dBrand finishes redesigning them. Until then, if you have a Project Killswitch, the case will not interact with the fan but the kickstand might, so dBrand is recommending to not use the kickstand until the new one is released.

If you do want to use the kickstand though, their testing shows that if your Steam Deck has a Huaying fan, the magnetic kickstand will NOT affect your Steam Deck's performance at all. If your Steam Deck has a Delta fan (the old whiny one), unfortunately the kickstand will cause your fan to ramp up its perceived RPM in order to counter the magnetic interference.
