Central AC install

Had to subcontract this project because I lack the tools and practice necessary to DIY this split-system HVAC swap. The split Air Conditioning system in the US has become incredibly resilient and long-lived over the years, but its lifespan is not yet perpetual. I hope this video will highlight the reason it cost what it does for the replacement process; it's a huge pain in the rear and involves tools from every MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) trades. Enjoy!

Tools used in this project:
Copper pipe cutter (generic), the Pros depicted used a name brand version which is better, but I don't cut copper pipe everyday, so I've got generic ones.: https://amzn.to/3CgmCWl

MAPP gas torch leads. I have found from past experience that MAPP gas (yellow can from hardware store) provides equivalent heat necessary for brazing copper lines, and it's not nearly as expensive nor difficult as maintaining a full Oxy-acetylene rig.: https://amzn.to/3Spcpg0

15% Silver and Phoscopper brazing rods: https://amzn.to/3dQVWSN

Flux to improve the working conditions while playing with fire: https://amzn.to/3UMzj2u

Pipe Bender (generic): https://amzn.to/3RhnH4A

Pipe swager (flares the copper for coupling). Yes, they have manual ones you can pound in with a hammer, but that is recommended only if this whole project is too easy for you.: https://amzn.to/3y1VwQo

Refrigerant gauges, manifold, vacuum pump: https://amzn.to/3SmqCu0

Refrigerant recovery machine: https://amzn.to/3SI92Ax

Refrigerant recovery tank, Scale, multimeter, 60-amp breaker, Type K copper lines, custom aluminum stand, compressed nitrogen, new refrigerant,

Etc.....

I hope this list has dissuaded you from doing this one yourself, unless you already have the $10000 worth of equipment necessary required to properly perform this work. If you are still reading, leave a comment below...
