Lawmakers rush to avoid government shutdown by midnight deadline

Time is running out for lawmakers to avoid a government shutdown, and they still need to get a continuing resolution through both chambers and then get the President to sign it. Supposedly, the government will run out of money if the deadline is not met, and the government must shut down. This happens all too often this time of year, especially with the rise of unorganized polarization within all US chambers of government. Not to mention that with midterms around the corner, all incumbents are more focused on their own personal political agendas/keeping their jobs after the fall. The deadline is assumed to be this Friday at midnight.
