Dream On

On November 12, 2012, Phil's son Nathaniel passed away from SIDS at 8 months old. A week later, Phil and his wife found out they were expecting their third child (Evan). It was during the time between Nathaniel's death and Evan's birth that Phil decided to write a song for his children: one that he wished he could sing to Nathaniel, and one that he could continue to sing to his other children.

He ended up choosing his kids' stuffed animals as the topic and the sweet experience of them coming to life in the special place and safety of a dream.

Kitty Cat, Mr. Frog, and Little Giraffe, were stuffed animals that belonged to Ella, and Evan. Mike the Monkey belonged to Nathaniel. Peter was born later and his name was added to song.

For years Phil sang this song to his kids as they went to bed at night. In 2020, he decided to get together with their friend Ruth, and they began singing it together. For Phil's 40th birthday, Phil's wife, Melissa, got Ruth and Phil into a studio to finally record "Dream On." We hope you enjoy!
