Protecting Vital Watersheds After Mosquito Fire

In the aftermath of wildfires, it's important to keep the chemicals from burned structures and materials from entering local watersheds. In the case of the #MosquitoFire, the work took place before the fire is even fully contained. #CCCChico Corpsmembers, working with our partners CalOES and Department of Water Resources, have been traversing the state protecting waterways from harmful contaminants. They've worked on three fires so far, in sweltering heat, and, yes, even in the rain. The straw wattles and silt socks they've strategically anchored will work to keep rain run-off from causing further damage to communities already devastated by the flames. #CaliforniaConservationCorps #CCCemergency
