Canada: Black Class Action Secretariat and NDP hold a news conference – September 28, 2022

Nicholas Marcus Thompson, executive director of the Black Class Action Secretariat, holds a news conference on Parliament Hill with NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh. With the support of the NDP and several civil rights groups, the secretariat is filing a complaint with the United Nations accusing the Canadian government of discriminatory hiring practices in the federal public service. Also participating in the event are Ketty Nivyabandi (secretary general of Amnesty International Canada) and Norma Domey (vice-president of the Professional institute of the Public Service of Canada).
