Created by author Jack Boyle, Boston Blackie's first appeared in "The American Magazine" of July 1914, with the story "The Price of Principle". Like in the movies of that time, The Boston Blackie radio series also starred Chester Morris, from June 23 to September 15, 1944, with Lesley Woods playing Blackie's girlfriend Mary Wesley, and Richard Lane played Inspector Farraday. Richard Kollmar played Boston Blackie from April 11, 1945 to October 25, 1950; Maurice Tarplin played Inspector Farraday; Jan Miner was Mary. More than 200 episodes were transcribed and syndicated to different network outlets. PS: I edited out most of the publicity of these old copyright free public domain radio episodes.
