The Dark Side of Being a Chess Cheater

There are people, like Magnus Carlsen, that can spot cheating at such a high level that most humans can’t even understand how they do it. Plus, there are multiple strong statistical arguments pointing towards cheating that most people simply will never understand or even entertain. In addition there are boat loads of circumstantial evidence that many people completely reject out of hand as irrelevant.

If the chess world doesn’t stand tough against cheating, chess as we know it will be ruined for good.

DARK SIDE:

If you’re a cheater, you _know_ that you’re a cheater and a fraud; if you’re not a cheater, you _know_ that you’re honest, ethical and moral. The truth will shine through in your behavior, speech, body language, confidence level, and of course the facts of the case.

You ruin relationships whether you’re caught or not.

Your cheating can become a habit; it can begin in one area of your life and then spread to other areas.

Your conscience is not clear and carefree; it’s guilty and troubled.
