Did you know our brain sometimes gets a little mixed up on the differences between reality and imagination?
Creating a mental image of ourselves doing something — like winning a tennis game or getting promoted at work — activates many of the same areas in the brain as actually experiencing the same situation in the real world. Regular repetition of affirming statements about ourselves can encourage our brains to take these guided positive affirmations as fact. When you truly believe you can do something, your actions often follow.
