Eagle: A general term for small to medium-sized diurnal hawk-shaped birds, especially species of the genus Accipiter (true hawk), including goshawks and sparrowhawks. The broad term hawk (hawk; eagle) is also commonly used to refer to other species of the Eagle family (such as kites, buteos, and harriers), and even to certain falcones (such as falcons, caracalla eagles). Eagles are carnivores and will hunt mice, snakes, hares or small birds. Large eagles (vultures) can hunt goats, sheep and fawns. It is majestic and ferocious, and zoologically calls it a bird of prey.
