Zimbabwe launched a freshly minted gold currency. 100% gold!
It is the hope of the government of Zimbabwe to wean the country's middle class from their dependence on the American dollar as a store of value!

It is also hoped that the new currency will stabilise the local currency and stimulate economic growth.
