Cory Jenks earned his doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina in 2011 and currently is a practicing clinical pharmacist—and improv comedian. Cory travels the country teaching healthcare professionals how to apply the valuable skills of improv comedy to create a more adaptable, empathetic, and humanizing healthcare experience for both patients and providers. Cory lives in Tucson, Arizona, with his wife, Cassie, their two children, and ten chickens.

In their conversation, Brian and Cory talk about how to put pharmacists and doctors in positions where they have the time and permission to care, the importance of empathy and sympathy when you work in the medical field, why knowing a patient's history is some of the most important information you can have, why physician burnout is so dangerous, the mutual advantages of the direct primary care model, and the necessity of having humility for the sake of your patients.

Life's Best Medicine According to Cory: "It is about nurturing the relationships that energize you and focusing on what you can control. Also laughing at the absurd realities of the world."
