Are we in an economic recession, transition, or something else?

Words are hard, apparently. The white house is doing everything in its power to avoid adopting the "r" word, and record-low July unemployment numbers are being propped up as PROOF that we are not, in fact, in a recession. Biden has gone so far as to say that "more people are working than at any point in American history." Yikes. That one isn't true, but this episode focuses on understanding employment numbers, as well as the bigger picture of economic indicators.

Is it encouraging that maybe they'll be the heroes and buffer us through to an economic boom, or are you concerned that corporations are capitalizing on high inflation and putting us in an artificial jobs bubble that might pop soon?
