Drowned the enemy's head in a bowl of blood

The famous Massagetite queen Tomiris lived in the sixth century B.C., but her image is still popular today. In works of art she is often portrayed as a swarthy, beautiful woman of a warlike disposition. According to legend, it was her warriors managed to destroy the legendary Persian ruler Cyrus the Second Great. This fatal battle for the Persians was associated with a personal tragedy of Tomiris.
