I was at a USPSA meet and I was bragging on how consistent and accurate Mills Ammunition 9mm 115gr shot. I said it runs at a Power Factor of 130. This Grand Master came up to me and said, “If you want to win, you shoot 147gr not 115gr.” I said, “Sweet, we have 147gr 9mm and it shoots the SAME!!” Right then I knew I needed to put it to the test. We used a FNS 9mm Longslide and our Mills Ammunition 115gr FMJ RN and our 147gr FMJ RN to see if the Old Grand Master was right. We used a Labradar to establish Power Factor. The 115’s averaged 1120fps for a PF of 128 and our 147’s averaged 883fps for a PF of 129. Using the Free Recoil Energy calculation, the 115’s gave 3.36 ft-lbs of recoil energy and the 147’s gave 3.30 ft-lbs of recoil energy. All in all, pretty much the SAME!! The story turned out to tell me what I already knew!! Step one, find out what weight of projectile YOUR pistol shoots better. Step two, find a load to get to the amount of energy you want to move that bullet!! Mills Ammunition is AWESOME!! We build the best competition and training rounds so you don’t have to!! www.millsammunition.com #veteranowned #madeinusa #madeinNC #Smallbusiness #familyrun #semi-auto #9mm #115gr #147gr #pistol #380ACP #45ACP #hollowpoints #self-defense
