Jersey City Mogul - Haytham Elgawly - The Matt Balaker Podcast

Haytham Elgawly is a serial entrepreneur born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. He has no quit in him. He started out parking cars and throwing house parties before working in the corporate world. Soon he was styling Sean “Puffy” Combs and launching his own brands. Now he’s starting a new retail experience called Medusa is his home town.

After graduating from William L. Dickinson High School in 2006, he went on to attend New Jersey City University and the Art Institute of NYC before leaving that behind to pursue greater aspirations. Exposed to hard work early with meticulous structure from managing his family’s decades long business, he started his work career at corporations such as the Hyatt hotel, Bank of America, and Honda Motor Company as a Business Development Manager overseeing and training over a dozen employees. Structure, process, and the skill to market to a target audience were all strong qualities he possessed before the age of 22. After many years of corporate juggling and misplaced passion he embarked on a journey with no constraints, alongside his childhood friend, launched and operated two successful nationally known brick and mortar brands through social media and formulated events.

Through such experiences, Haytham was able to gain local and celebrity recognition such as Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jadakiss, Victor Cruz and much more.

Haytham’s most notable recent venture is “The Clearport” which is a new conceptual retail experience “wear you get fly”. An airport-themed clothing boutique that caters to the entire family located in the heart of Jersey City just a few blocks away from where he grew up and attended grammar school.

He oversees a small locally hired staff who serve shoppers with the highest level of service and product knowledge. Just like previous endeavors it gained notoriety through Haytham’s key strengths in marketing, creatively analyzing, negotiating, and problem solving.

Haytham is also the founder of a non-profit organization; Chilltown C.H.I.L.L.dren (Changing How Im Living Life) that teaches and empowers creatives how to independently create, market, and sell their own brands in collaboration with his printing company 6IX AM PRINTING.

Haytham’s infectious energy and creative soul is a sure magnet for success. Always passionately creating for a better tomorrow he is an inspiration to his fellow peers, the creative community, and Jersey City.
