UK currency British Pound Sterling collapse in crisis. We must look carefully to see for any further intervention. Japan likely will do more. UK government initially seemed like not in a rush.
Keep an eye on Japan’s USD Treasury holdings.

Strong USD creates inflow of capital looking for higher return. Too high impacts exports.
Strong USD also creates problems for all other countries as their currency weakens against it. Money leaves their country. For Japan, nobody wants to buy their debt.d

Problem for the UK: Inflation is very high. Government proposes tax cuts. This would potentially increase the budget deficit. More stimulation of the economy proposed as inflationary. As a result, the government would have to increase interest rates even more.
