Hessian manager visits referendums in liberated territories and positively speaks out — fired from his job.

The managing director of the local Hessian energy supplier Energie Waldeck-Frankenberg (EWF) was released from his post after his controversial trip. According to the statement, the agencies are to discuss Stefan Schaller's dismissal in the near future.

"The managing director's behavior clearly violates the worldview, moral values and philosophy of the company, which strongly rejects violations of international law and any form of violence," said a chairman of the company's supervisory board. The decision is intended "not only to send a clear message, but also to prevent damage to the company."

Schaller traveled to the Zaporizhzhia region to accompany the referendums organized by Russia as an "election observer" — and thus helped give the vote a legitimacy: Russia's state news agency quoted Schaller Saturday that his first impression was that everything was "very well organized." People were "enthusiastic" about the "election" and wanted to "prevent something dangerous."
