Di Maio, Emma Bonino: The big losers of the Italian elections, out of the next Parliament

Outgoing Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio and former Foreign Minister Emma Bonino are no longer in parliament in Italy.

Di Maio was defeated by former minister Costa in the single-member constituency of the Naples Chamber of Fuorigrotta and therefore is out of the next Parliament.

It is undoubtedly the most sensational of the illustrious duels of the last political elections, especially for the surprise result, but not the only one.

Emma Bonino beats Carlo Calenda but is overtaken by center-right candidate Lavinia Mennuni.
