Suspect in Russian school shooting dies by suicide, investigators say

The Investigative Committee of Russia said it had identified the suspect, who they said had died by suicide, after at least seven children and six adults were killed in a school shooting in Izhevsk, Russia, on Monday, September 26.

In a statement on Monday, the Investigative Committee identified the suspect as Artem Kazantsev, born in 1988 and a native of the city of Izhevsk and graduate of School 88, where the shooting took place.

Kazantsev’s residence and links to neo-fascist and Nazi ideology were being investigated, the committee added.

The committee said in a statement on Monday that the shooter had been seen wearing a black T-shirt with Nazi symbols on it.

Footage released on Monday by the Investigative Committee shows a body on the ground, with a black T-shirt showing a red Swastika.
