Sami & Kiely Close Friends!? Kate Says Otherwise!

Sami claims that her and Kiely Rodni became close friends in the past year and coming months. Kate, a friend of Kiely says in messages otherwise. Stating that Sami and Kiely were really never friends. Possible that Sami is feeling guilty that the party she helped organized has now turned into someone that is now missing from that party and wants to help find Kiely. BUT, why say it like they were close friends? Why not just say I didn't know her that well and want to help find her!?
