invisible UFO blocks beam / object heading to Atlantic

Only a area over the East coast was clear enough to see the stars. No haze or drizzle present just cloudy. I noticed that my beam all of a sudden was being reflected off a object that was solid enough to make it fan out and was just like I was pointing at a wall You can clearly see it get a lot closer and it leaves when I spot the object directly over the coast. The stars in the back ground are very visible. The object itself was quite invisible. UPDATE. After going out in rain fog clouds..just about everything but snow...the beam won't stop except when it contacts a SOLID object.
