For Mom ʚ♡ɞ

I love music. It's my guiding star. It carries me through life. I've made over 200 playlists by genre, decade, and mood. My Mom loved music. She grew up in the tiny town of Atikokan in the 1950s. My Mom knew the Bible, front to back. In her youth, she was a Sunday school teacher.

She moved to Winnipeg in the 1960s when she was in her bare twenties, searching to broaden her horizons. She got a job as a cashier at Gambles, and met my Dad at a dance one night. They fell in love and got married and gave birth to me and my brother and sister. My Mom loved kids and became a kindergarten teacher at the YMHA. She was the best homemaker, best cook and best baker in town.

In her retirement years, her favorite pastime was relaxing with a glass of wine and listening to music. She loved to listen to Abba, Kris Kristofferson, and Crystal Gayle. I used to make playlists for her to enjoy. This is the last playlist I made for her.
