Math and Science - A Deeper Exploration in Classical Education - Ethos Logos Publishing

Math and Science in the Classical model focus on a deeper exploration of concepts and repetition of ideas from year to year. As your scholar continues to explore a mathematical concept, or discipline in science, greater depth of understanding occurs with each year. In math, we recommend the Saxon Math program which is used in top private and charter schools around the US. For science, your student explores a full year of Biology in 1st grade, 5th grade, and then 9th grade. Each year building upon prior knowledge to go a bit deeper. (Earth science is explored in 2nd, 6th, and 10th - Chemistry in 3rd, 7th, and 11th and Physics in 4th, 8th, and 12th). In our science instruction, we add the great scientists from history as a way to show students what a life of science could mean for them. We include opportunities for ethical debates in the sciences and include major scientific breakthroughs aligned to each of the units
