Using the engine

With the exception of Battlefield 2: Modern Warfare which uses the RenderWare engine all other Battlefield games use the EA DICE self-developed engine.

Refractor 2
Refractor 2 engine improved from Refraction Refractor engine DICE Refraction into the bag Refractor engine as the basis for the development of a more complete Refractor 2 engine and applied to the "Battlefield 1942" and "Vietnam".
Refractor 2 engine has been significantly improved adding new technologies and special effects namely to become the engine of four games namely Battlefield 2 Battlefield 2142 Battlefield: Heroes and Battlefield: Play4Free.
