The year was back in 2017
And whispered to us messages of treason
Of a darkened world mostly unseen
And we cried just how can it be
It must be make believe
But somehow we knew this to be the truth
Now we face the Great Awakening

For so long we heard the voice inside us screaming
And it spoke to us, opened our eyes
To the anger all the dark people were feeding
We’ll expose their lies
Know that we will be slaves no more
You can’t control our minds
And now you know that this will be your truth
You must face the Great Awakening

In the future, maybe one late October evening
We’ll tell the tale of this Awakening
Our children’s children, eyes wide open and believing
List’ning closely with the family
Understanding with each baited breath
The story that will live in infamy
And they will know that this will be their truth
