After the fifth week of life and before reaching one year of age, puppies sleep 65% of their time, as we have already told you. Upon reaching adulthood, the average number of hours spent sleeping per day increases again, spending about 70 to 75% of the time sleeping. That is, they spend around 15 to 16 hours a day sleeping. It is around one year of age that cats reach adulthood, although in some breeds it may take longer.

Although they need long rest periods, adult cats don't get 16 hours of sleep all at once. You've probably noticed that kittens take many naps throughout the day, in different spaces in the house where they feel comfortable. In addition to the various naps, the cat goes through stages of deep sleep once or twice a day.
