"My girlfriend and I are introducing the kids slowly to me and everything was going well until they went on a camping trip with their Dad. I am happy he is in their lives and in no way do I want to replace him as their dad. After this trip though we were planning on going to the beach together with her friends and her daughter said she didn’t want me there. It seemed out of the blue and she’s only 6, but we are struggling to find a good strategy to approach this with. She wants to honor her wishes and I respect that, but we are trying to figure out a good way to approach and overcome this. Please help, and I thank you for all of the videos and advice you have given so far. I am not a step dad yet, but I feel like we are working our way to it."
