Have We Not Great Reason to Rejoice?!

An original hymn, with text based on Alma 26 in the Book of Mormon. The sons of Mosiah had once led people away from the church and gospel of Jesus Christ, but were visited by an angel who warned that their souls would be destroyed if they did not repent. They repented and Jesus Christ redeemed them. They were filled with love toward their enemies and went to preach the gospel to them for many years, suffering hunger, thirst, fatigue and every deprivation. They succeeded in bringing thousands of Lamanites to believe in Christ and repent of their sins, and those Lamanites never turned back!
There are missionaries laboring with their might all over the earth in these days and bringing many people to rejoice in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. He is the Almighty God of Abraham. He has restored his church and gospel in these last days through the prophet Joseph Smith and the hastening of the work of salvation is happening now through priesthood keys given to Russel M Nelson. The garners are the temples where the ordinances of eternal salvation and exaltation are done. It is the covenants of the Lord made at baptism and in the temple that will protect us sheaves from the storms raging to destroy our souls. Jesus offers us the opportunity to unite with God in this life and the next. Is this not reason to rejoice?

Have we not great reason to rejoice?
For we are made instruments by God
To bring our brethren from destruction
To sing a song of redeeming love!

Blessed be God, a merciful being
To those who repent and believe in Christ!
This is my life my joy and salvation!
My redemption from everlasting woe!

Blessed are ye who thrust in the sickle
With your night all the day long!
Behold the sheaves gathered in the garners,
Safe from the storm to the last day!
