While the Aggressive I reviewed had some issues, I’ve got high hopes for the Ecuadorian Habano-wrapped Doomsayer Passive. However, one of the first things I noticed about this cigar was the crack at the foot. I guess if you’re going to have a crack somewhere on your cigar, that’s the best place for it.

But, with a quick cut with my guillotine, the Room 101 Doomsayer Passive had a perfect amount of resistance on the cold draw. Once lit, though, I tasted paper bag (but in a good way) and lots of spice, probably from the Habano wrapper leaf, as well as something buttery-smooth.

Off to a very interesting start, the Room 101 Doomsayer Passive Toro is still up for debate. Is it worth $8? Let’s find out.

Within minutes, all of the undesirable flavors in the Room 101 Doomsayer Passive Toro went away and were placed with delicious spiciness and creaminess. The cracked foot had no lasting impact on the cigar, and the construction seemed perfect through the middle third.

Final Thoughts

With a somewhat short smoke time of 66 minutes, the Room 101 Doomsayer Passive Toro was good with a few disappointments. There was a crack at the foot, and the tear in the wrapper leaf on the smoking in was annoying.

That said, my experience with the Room 101 Doomsayer Passive Toro was good overall. Despite the flaws, the draw was perfect and I got a good amount of smoke on every puff.

A good price. A good cigar. I enjoyed it quite a bit, so the Room 101 Doomsayer Passive Toro earns a CigarScore 5.
