By March 21st, 1945, the Battleship USS Texas had seen combat across the world. She had been present at the Allied invasion of North Africa, the landings at Normandy, and the invasion of southern France in Operation Dragoon and the landings at Iwo Jima. Despite that long service, she wasn’t done yet, and still faced one of the most dangerous operations of the war: the assault on Okinawa.
