Fairy Tail Volume 49: Message of Fire - Manga Review

Welcome to my review of Fairy Tail Volume 49 by Hiro Mashima. The Tartaros arc has finally concluded in what is the most emotional volume yet. Zeref appears out of nowhere to snatch up the Book of END, leaving our heroes with a cryptic message. In a last ditch effort to defeat Acnoglia, Igneel rips off the beast's arm, but loses his own life. Natsu is beside himself, but gains the resolve to grow even stronger and defeat Acnologia. We then get a few pages dedicated to each major character and how they are coping with their loses and trauma from this arc. Natsu writes a letter to Lucy saying that he is going on a year long training journey, so that he can defeat Acnologia, and in his absence Makarov decides to disband the guild. There was also a page with Zeref sitting in his castle where he declared that END stands for Etherious Natsu Dragneel. Holy shit! I loved the second half of this volume, particular for all of the Natsu and Lucy moments after they reunited. And omg! I love Lucy's new outfit, she is just beautiful! lol Stay tuned for my next Fairy Tail review as Natsu, Lucy, and Happy begin a brand new adventure with the hope of reuniting with all of their old friends.
