James Adair, born 1709, died 1783. Came to America from County Antrim, Ireland with the Scotch-Irish Presbyterians. Landed in Philadelphia, and groups went West across the Allegheny Mountains and to Charleston, SC.
Adair wrote the book "History of the American Indians" in 1775. A tv special was performed and is available on www.chickasaw/profiles/james-adair-profile
